Harrisburg, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Community & Economic Development (DCED) is excited to announce the launch of three new grant programs to strengthen Pennsylvania’s tourism industry. As part of this initiative, the Great American Getaway Grant is now available to support collaboration between communities and tourism-related businesses to create unique regional travel experiences that showcase the best of Pennsylvania.

The Great American Getaway Grant is designed to elevate Pennsylvania’s status as a premier travel destination by funding projects that highlight the state’s diverse attractions, including:

  • Outdoor Recreation – From scenic hiking trails to adventure sports, showcasing Pennsylvania’s natural beauty.
  • Culinary Adventures – Promoting local flavors, farm-to-table experiences, and renowned food destinations.
  • Cultural & Heritage Exploration – Highlighting Pennsylvania’s rich history, arts, and cultural heritage.
  • Urban Ventures – Enhancing city-based tourism experiences that attract visitors to Pennsylvania’s vibrant urban centers.

Who Can Apply?

The grant is open to a variety of entities that contribute to Pennsylvania’s tourism economy, including:

  • Destination Marketing Organizations (DMOs) – Regional tourism organizations looking to enhance marketing efforts.
  • Tourism-Related Businesses – For-profit and non-profit businesses that cater to tourists, including accommodations, restaurants, entertainment venues, transportation providers, outdoor recreation services, and more.
