Schuylkill Highlands Goals
Goal 1:

Create an Interconnected Regional Trail Network to Destinations and Gateways thus increasing the recreational opportunities for Connecting residents and visitors to the outdoors, and to the regional heritage sites in the Schuylkill Highlands landscape.

The priority regional trail projects to gateways and places of interest include: Angelica Creek Trail from the Schuylkill River Trail to Nolde Forest, the Boars Back Trail from Saint Peter’s Village to Elverson, Big Woods Trail from the Schuylkill River Trail to the Boars Back Trail, French Creek State Park to Coventry Woods to Pottstown, French Creek Trail expansion, The Reading Area Greenway Trails, Horse-Shoe Trail to New Morgan Borough, Antietam Lake Park site amenities, PA Highlands Trail utilizing existing area trails, main stem Schuylkill River Trail gaps in Chester and Montgomery Counties, signage and wayfinding, Struble Trail form Marsh Creek to Honey Brook Borough, Brandywine Creek Greenway to Elverson, Leaf Creek Trail and the Route 82 to Birdsboro Waters Recreation Area.

The Pottstown Metropolitan Regional Planning Commission and the Pottstown Health and Wellness Parks Grant Program is supported through PA DCNR funding to advance park improvement projects in the eight municipalities within the PMRPC.
